250 in Kennett
Celebrate America’s 250th in the heart of Kennett Square with an evening of community, tradition, and small-town charm.
Look to the sky as Kennett’s iconic mushroom from Midnight in the Square—decked out in red, white, and blue—drops twice during the evening, at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM. The stainless-steel LED-lit mushroom measures 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide and will hang more than 40 feet above the street throughout the event.
Downtown will be fully dressed in red, white, and blue, creating a festive backdrop for outdoor dining, live music from a brass band, and family-friendly activities throughout the evening. Reservations for outdoor dining are strongly encouraged, plan ahead and enjoy the celebration from your favorite restaurant on State Street.
Join the Kennett Area Theatrical Society for a “Dare to Declare” reading of the Declaration of Independence at 6 pm.
Come early, stay late, and experience a 250 celebration that’s uniquely Kennett.
Special thanks to the Chester County Community Foundation, Bob’s Crane Service, Chatham Financial, the Mushroom Festival, Kennett Heritage Center, and the Kennett Area Theatrical Society.
