Mushroom Parade

The Mushroom Parade is back! To kick off the 40th Anniversary of the Mushroom Festival, Kennett Collaborative invites artists, community groups, schools, families, local businesses, and mushroom lovers of all kinds to participate in an exciting parade! Whether you’re dreaming up a whimsical float, designing mushroom-themed costumes, or showcasing a local performance group, this is your chance to help launch one of Kennett Square’s most beloved events with color, creativity, and community spirit.

Kicking off at 6 pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the parade route will mirror the Holiday Light Parade, beginning on South Broad Street and then turning west on to State Street through the historic heart of Kennett Square.

Visitors coming to experience the Mushroom Parade are encouraged to make the most of the weekend in the beautiful Brandywine Valley. Start Thursday evening with the parade, then spend Friday exploring world-famous Longwood Gardens and Kennett’s unique shops and restaurants. On Saturday and Sunday, the streets come alive with the Mushroom Festival—featuring culinary events, mushroom displays, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

With this year’s theme, “Harvesting 40 Years Together,” we can’t wait to celebrate with you. Whether you’re marching in the parade or cheering from the sidelines, this is your chance to be part of something magical, meaningful, and uniquely Kennett Square. Submit your parade application by Friday, August 22 and help us kick off this milestone celebration in unforgettable style.
