From brushstrokes to biodiversity, Art on the Greenway: Wild Medicine Unveiled is the culmination of a year-long creative journey connecting art, ecology, and community along the Kennett Greenway.

Through a series of painting workshops, community members came together this summer to add their own color to four large-scale mural panels co-created with lead artist Kala Hagopian of Hagopian Arts. Each brushstroke represented not just artistic expression, but shared stewardship— celebrating the native plants, pollinators, and stories that make our landscape thrive.

Now, those panels will be revealed in full color during Art on the Greenway: Wild Medicine Unveiled, an immersive evening at The Creamery of Kennett Square featuring live R&B, electric cello, fine-art models, and aerial dance performances that bring the murals, and the community’s collective creativity, to life.

This signature event embodies the Kennett Trails Alliance’s mission: to connect people and places through shared spaces that are inclusive, sustainable, and reflect the spirit and character of Kennett.

“When we first invited the community to add their brushstrokes to these murals, we were really inviting them to leave their mark on the Kennett Greenway,”  said Natalia Santiago Vazquez, Director of Community Engagement and Programming. “Wild Medicine Unveiled is our moment to celebrate our community’s creativity. It’s a reminder that art and nature thrive when they belong to everyone.”

Planting Roots Through Art

All proceeds from Art on the Greenway: Wild Medicine Unveiled benefit the Kennett Area Park Authority (KAPA), supporting native plantings along the Kennett Greenway, ensuring the creativity and connection sparked by this project continue to grow for generations.
