On Thursday, December 18th, State Street will transform into a festive holiday wonderland for Tinsel on the Town, one of Kennett Collaborative’s most beloved seasonal celebrations. With extended shopping hours, family activities, and special surprises around every corner, this is an evening you won’t want to miss.

Local shops and street vendors will stay open late, offering unique gifts, special promotions, and warm holiday treats. As you stroll beneath the gold tinsel garlands strung across State Street, you’ll feel the magic of the season all around you.
🎄 Family-Friendly BINGO Adventure
The popular Tinsel on the Town BINGO game returns this year! Families can pick up a BINGO card at either Square Pear Gallery or Chantilly Blue and visit participating businesses to find holiday symbols hidden throughout the stores. Complete your card and enter to win prizes from local favorites.

🚂 All Aboard the Kennett Express
Back for its second year, the Kennett Express—an ADA-compliant electric passenger train—will offer FREE rides for adults and children from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Carolers from Calabrese Arts will fill the air with holiday music, and vendors along the street will be serving hot drinks and cozy seasonal sips.

⭐ New This Year: The Tinsel Hat Competition
Let your creativity shine! The new Tinsel Hat Competition invites both kids and adults to design their own festive holiday headpieces. Think tinsel, ornaments, lights, sparkles—anything that captures your holiday spirit. Guest judges will choose the most creative hat of the night and also announce the winner of the beloved Holiday Window Tour, where local businesses compete for the community’s vote with spectacular storefront displays.

Santa Claus, the Grinch, Buddy the Elf and even Cindy Lou Who will all make appearances during the evening—perfect for festive photos and magical moments for kids and adults alike. Visits with Santa will take place on the porch at work2gether.
