Join us for Kennett Square’s biggest holiday celebration! The Holiday Light Parade kicks off at on Saturday, November 30th at 7:00 PM, featuring over 100 illuminated trucks, floats, and walking groups, with an expanded parade route stretching from Broad Street to Mill Road.

Pre-Parade Fun:

(First performance will be in front of Portabellos with a second performance in front of El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant

Parade Highlights:

  • Parade Start Time: 7:00 pm
  • Santa & Mrs. Claus: Making their grand appearance at the end of the parade to light the town’s Christmas tree!
  • Expanded Parade Route: State Street from Broad Street to Mill Road.
  • Announcers:
    • English: 100 Block of East State Street
    • Spanish: 305 West State Street (in front of El Ranchero)

Parade Route:

The parade route has been significantly expanded this year to accommodate more spectators, stretching along State Street from Broad Street to Mill Road. This is the biggest parade yet, featuring a variety of floats, festive vehicles, and walking groups.

New This Year:

  • Public port-o-potties located at the Linden Street Garage, El Ranchero, and Denny Electric. The American Legion Building will be open for restrooms and also has a full bar. 

Transportation & Parking:

  • Tip: Carpooling is highly encouraged!
  • Parking: Free parking is available at the Linden Street Garage.
  • Parking Restrictions: No parking along the parade route or staging areas starting at 5:00 pm.
  • Road Closures: Streets will begin closing at 6:00 pm to prepare for the parade.

Important Times: 

5:00 pm Parking restrictions begin along the parade route and staging areas.

6:00 pm Street closures begin. 

6:30 pm Pre-parade entertainment by the Calabrese Arts Carolers. 

6:45 pm Longwood Dance Company performance. 

7:00 pm Holiday Light Parade begins!

Tips for Enjoying the Parade:

  • Plan for a day in Kennett Square; shop local for Small Business Saturday!
  • Spread out along the route to find great viewing areas on West State Street.
  • Looking for hot chocolate? Try Mrs. Robinson’s Tea Shop, Cafe Emis, Mary Pat’s Provisions, and Kennett Square Apartments.
  • While you wait for the parade, check out the storefront displays and vote for your favorite Window Tour spot.
  • Dress warmly and bring blankets or lawn chairs.
  • Stay on the sidewalks and keep children safely out of the parade path—large equipment is in the parade  and visibility is limited in the dark.
  • Skip the traffic and go to Wayvine, or Victory for a drink after the parade. These locations are at either end of the parade route.
  • Come back the following weekend for the Holiday Village Market at the Creamery of Kennett Square!
