At the corner of Birch and Broad Streets, Opus  is a new restaurant where art is more than décor. It’s part of the experience. Throughout the restaurant, guests are surrounded by a curated collection of 30+ original works that spark conversation, inspire curiosity, and celebrate creativity.

Through the Student Art Exhibition (opusksq.com/student-art-exhibition), the art experience extends beyond established artists and into the next generation of talent. In partnership with the art departments of Kennett, Oxford, Avon Grove, and Unionville High Schools, student artists were invited to exhibit their work alongside our permanent collection, giving young creatives the opportunity to share their vision with the community while supporting arts education throughout Southern Chester County. Every six months, student finalists are selected for exhibition, earn monetary awards, and compete for a People’s Choice honor voted by Opus guests.

General Manager Beau Fournier is a lifelong Kennett resident, and he’s thrilled to welcome guests into a space that spotlights rising artistic talent from the community. “It means a lot to me that we’re giving these students a platform to show their work,” he said, “and our guests have really enjoyed seeing the art and voting for their favorites.”

The student artworks are on view in prominent spots in the restaurant near the main entrance and the downstairs bar:

• The Inverted Pyramid, by Michael Moyer (Grade 10)
• With the Fish, by Kira Tinney (Grade 12)
• Nature Morte, by Isabella Caserta (Grade 12)
• Mama Bear, by MJ Lesperance (Grade 11)

This special exhibition is one way that Opus celebrates local creativity, invests in arts education, and draws connections to such an inspiring community.

Opus is a project of Square Roots Collective (ksqroots.com), a local non-profit organization committed to community thriving. All profits from their hospitality businesses are reinvested to enable positive social impact in Southern Chester County.
