Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As we celebrate the Fourth of July and mark the 250th anniversary of our nation, we are grateful for the community spirit that makes Kennett Square such a beautiful and welcoming place to call home.

This year, thanks to the generosity and support of our donors and sponsors and a grant from the Chester County Community Foundation, Kennett Collaborative was able to decorate town in celebration of this historic anniversary. From the 25′ flags that flank the clocktower and patriotic touches along our vibrant business corridor, these decorations are a visible reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together.

We also want to take this opportunity to connect the dots between the events that raise critical funds for Kennett Collaborative and the free programming we provide throughout the year. Fundraisers like Kennett Summerfest and Kennett Brewfest help make it possible for us to offer beloved community events at no cost to attend, including the Memorial Day Parade, the 250 in Kennett celebration on June 18, the Kennett Square Farmers Market every Friday, and upcoming events like Third Thursday on July 16.

When you buy a ticket, become a sponsor, make a donation, volunteer your time, or simply show up and participate, you are helping create the vibrant small-town life that makes Kennett Square special.

None of this happens without the dedication of many people behind the scenes. We are deeply grateful to our hardworking volunteers, our board, and our staff. A special thank-you goes to Ros Fenton, who organizes our community programs, markets, and decorations; Mary Lou Baily, who organizes our fundraisers and parades and works closely with our sponsors and grantors; and Alex Rush, who tells the story of our community through our social media and newsletter channels.

This Fourth of July, we are celebrating not only our country’s history, but also the people who continue to shape the future of our town with generosity, creativity, and care.

From all of us at Kennett Collaborative, happy Fourth of July. Thank you for helping make Kennett Square a place where everyone belongs.

Sincerely,

Daniel Embree
